Winelands Tour

The green valleys of the Cape Winelands are encircled by hilly mountains. Towns and villages have many houses and monuments, and occasionally orchards must be seen, whose products can found in all corners of the world. Its Mediterranean climate and winter rainfall in south-west of Cape Town produced some of the best wines in the country.
The rich and fertile soils along the Breede River and especially Velley areas of Somerset West, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek has become world famous for its white, red, sherry, port and cognac. See the Wine Route of the CAP, for a detailed overview of all the wine routes, including the Constantia Valley, coastal roads, Little Karoo and Olifants River Wine Routes and much more.
Destinations / Town & Suburbs of the Cape Winelands
Franschhoek
Cape Franshoek French corner is one of the tremendous wine valleys in the world, just 45 minutes from Cape Town and half an hour of Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington and wine routes in Somerset West.
Groot Drakenstein
The valley is known as the Groot Drakenstein in the shadow of the mountain of the same name on the back of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, midway between Paarl and Franschhoek. Some large historic Cape Dutch farms located in this valley, including the vineyards of Boschendal, Bien Donne, Meerlust, Solms-Delta and L'Ormarins. In fact, it describes an area that is in the shadow of the Groot Drakenstein Mountains.
Klapmuts
Klapmuts, right on the R45 between Paarl and Kraaifontein, is a fairly small town in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Klapmuts is very popular among tourists you can take on large farms and small farms with views of the mountains on the edge of things. You feel free of the city here, if only 45 minutes from Cape Town.
Paarl
Just an hour's drive from Cape Town, it will take you to a huge granite outcrop with three rounded domes, one leading from what was initially called Peerleberg or Pearl Mountain Gabemma Abraham. Abraham came on the rock in 1657 on his way to find meat in the Cape of Good Hope settlement. The solid rock is the name of a city that is today known for its gorgeous panorama, fine wines and spectacular architecture.
Pniel
If you have ever driven along the Helshoogte R310 Stellenbosch, an alternative route through beautiful Franschhoek, then you have crossed the small town of Pniel. Linking the two main cities of the wine in this manner allows a more enjoyable weekend full of good food, good view, and enough wine to fill the trunk of his car.
