Sydney Harbour Tour

The remarkable Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia occupies the harbour at its slightest summit between Dawes and Milsons Points. It is made of riveted steel comprising double-hinged, tangible deck and concrete pylons. The construction of this bridge is completed in 1932.

At that time, it was considered as the essence of contemporary bridge either in designing or engineering ingenuity. The first recommendation of bridge proposal put forward in 1815 by convict architect Francis Greenway. Initially, Sydney was established Sydney Cove only but due to population growth, it developed around the harbour and its tributaries to the north, west and south. On the northern side, European settlement of the Harbour was started in 1814 by Billy Blue, who has started the first ferry service across the harbour soon.

To the north coast, Watermen continuously providing passage until the 1840s, when Sydney’s first vehicular ferry service was recognized between Dawes and Milsons end. In the end of the nineteenth century, Vehicular and passenger ferries persisted to be a significant shape of community transport on Sydney Harbour. During the nineteenth century, several construction plans and projects were considered but none were realized. This bridge came across into the consideration because of its innovative concept and designing.

In the early twentieth century, the construction of a bridge became a reality with the complete assistance of engineering support and latest technology. One of the benefits of steel is its cost effectiveness and another is its durable and malleable enough to cross wide tidal bodies of water.
