The Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous performing arts centres in the Australian city of Sydney. The great architect Danish was conceived and largely built in 1973 after a long gestation competition-winning design in 1957. In 2003, the Pritzker Prize was won by Utzon architecture's highest honour.
On 28 June 2007, the Sydney Opera House was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is considered as most unique buildings amid the 20th century. Positioned on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Sydney Opera House sits at the northeastern tip of the Sydney central business district.
