Sydney Opera House Tour


The Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous performing arts centres in the Australian city of Sydney. The great architect Danish was conceived and largely built in 1973 after a long gestation competition-winning design in 1957. In 2003, the Pritzker Prize was won by Utzon architecture's highest honour.


On 28 June 2007, the Sydney Opera House was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is considered as most unique buildings amid the 20th century. Positioned on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Sydney Opera House sits at the northeastern tip of the Sydney central business district. There is Royal Botanic Gardens that is enclosed on three sides by the harbor.


Sydney Opera house boasts of various performance venues. Every year, these venues are hosted over 1,500 performances which were attended by some 1.2 million people. Renowned as the performing arts centres in the world, it presents plenty of creations on its own account. It is also one of the much loved visitor attractions in Australia inviting more than million people visiting the site each year that beyond the estimation. Many venues such as Opera Australia, the Australian Ballet, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra are the major resident companies provided by the Sydney Opera House.
