The word Jharkhand is known as Vananchal which is derived from the two Hindi words “Vana” which means “forests” and “anchal” means “area”. Thus, the word Vananchal combinedly means the land of forests. The state of Jharkhand was carved out from the state of Bihar in 2000 and became 28th state of Indian Union which shares its borders with Bihar to the north, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to the west, Orissa to the south, and West Bengal to the east. The newly formed state of Jharkhand offers diverse tourist destinations to the tourists visiting to explore the itineraries of the northern India.
